Leonore Embroidered Top - White, Pink, Light Green
Handwoven in the highlands of Guatemala, the Leonore is the work of three artisans, each carrying a distinct hand through the piece. One weaves the cotton textile on a backstrap loom, a second embroiders it by hand, and a third finishes the hem in hand-crochet.
Where the traditional huipil has a loose, rectangular cut, the Leonore takes a more fitted shape — finished with a hand-crocheted edge along the hem and a longer length for added coverage. The result is a silhouette that feels more considered against the body, without losing what makes a huipil a huipil: every stitch is still worked by hand, carrying forward the same tradition passed down through generations of women artisans.
Its fitted shape and longer length make it easy to wear on its own with tailored trousers, or layered under a blazer for something more polished.
Details
- Fabric: hand-woven cotton, hand-embroidered, hand-crocheted hem
- Origin: highlands of Guatemala
- Care instructions: due to the delicate nature of the hand-crochet edge, we recommend dry cleaning or hand washing and laying flat to dry (other huipils in the collection without crochet detailing may be machine washed on delicate)
- As each piece is entirely handmade, slight variations in weave, embroidery, and crochet are part of its character, not a flaw
Fit
See sizing image for full fit details. A more fitted silhouette than the traditional rectangular huipil. Made in one size, with a fit best suited to sizes 4–8.
Lark's note
"The Leonore is perfect for anyone who loves the traditional beauty of a huipil but wants a more tailored silhouette with a little extra length. I love how versatile it is — tuck it in for a simpler, more polished look, or wear it untucked for more of a statement piece."

Fit Notes:
Relaxed fit, gently tapers through the body.
Each huipil is measured laid flat. Because these garments are crafted from traditional rectangular textiles, they are designed to drape rather than fit closely. The silhouette adapts beautifully to many body shapes and stages of life.
Exact measurements may vary slightly (1/2" to 1") due to the handmade nature of each piece. If you have any questions and would like to confirm your fit at time of order, please email our team at info@larkinlane.com and we'd be happy to help you.
