Guatemalan Textile Poncho
Featuring a soft, hand-woven Guatemalan textile, our Coban poncho is perfect to throw on for that soccer game, a night at the movies or with cute jeans and a turtleneck sweater for a girls' night out. With its chic color combination and brushed fringe bottom-edge, our boho poncho has a polished look to it - the perfect combination!
Following the Civil War in Guatemala (from 1960-1996), many women were widowed and left without an income. Weaving at home has allowed them to support their children through their craft and at the same time develop self-confidence and organizational skills. They have passed these skills on to their daughters and granddaughters and created a successful and self-sustaining enterprise- all while preserving their cultural heritage!
At Larkin Lane, Lark hand selects authentic textiles and collaborates with Guatemalan artisans in the design of each product. Your purchase supports these craftsmen and women. Thank you for the role you play in keeping global textile traditions alive!
