Gabrielle Embroidered Top - White, Pink, Lavender
Handcrafted in the highlands of Guatemala, the Gabrielle is woven and embroidered by two artisans working in partnership. One weaves the cotton textile by hand on a backstrap loom, and a second artisan completes the embroidery. Tailored closer to the body for a fitted, polished silhouette, the Gabrielle features a slightly cropped length and a small side slit at each hem for ease of movement.
Details
- Fabric: hand woven cotton, hand embroidered
- Origin: highlands of Guatemala
- Care instructions: can be machine washed inside out on delicate; we suggest drying flat. The cotton textile can be ironed (suggest ironing inside out) and can also be dry cleaned
- Note: as each piece is entirely handmade, slight variations in weave and embroidery are part of its character, not a flaw

Lark's note
"The Gabrielle came from a simple request. As a petite woman who fell in love with the traditional huipil, I wanted a version I could tuck into a skirt or wear with more tailored pieces. Together with the artisans, we created this fit, respectfully adapted for modern living. Every stitch is still worked entirely by hand, and the tradition behind it is unchanged.
The Gabrielle is the huipil I wear the most. I pair it with wide-leg cropped pants, shorts, or an A-line skirt — it can be worn tucked in, but still looks polished untucked. The arm length is super flattering too!"

Each huipil is measured laid flat. Because these garments are crafted from traditional rectangular textiles, they are designed to drape rather than fit closely. The silhouette adapts beautifully to many body shapes and stages of life.
Exact measurements may vary slightly (1/2" to 1") due to the handmade nature of each piece. If you have any questions and would like to confirm your fit at time of order, please email our team at info@larkinlane.com and we'd be happy to help you.
