Nahua Silk Ikat and Otomi Pillow

$ 359.00

Our "Nahua" pillow brings together the genius craftsmanship of two countries on opposite ends of the globe! Larkin Lane paired this authentic Otomi textile, hand-embroidered in Mexico, with a GORGEOUS silk ikat fabric from Uzbekistan. Featuring a silk tape trim accent framing the otomi design, this custom designed pillow brings a touch of global chic to your home.

Otomi textiles are hand-embroidered by the Otomi Indians in the Mexican state of Hidalgo. They are typically made from cotton / muslin and feature saturated colors, floral designs, animal patterns, and bold use of positive and negative space! Front and center, the Otomi design depicts a multi-colored nature scene. Behind the Otomi portrait, you will find the vibrant pink fabric of this pillow that is hand-loomed and hand-dyed silk in Uzbekistan. It can take up to a month to weave a single yard of this fabric! Truly a one of a kind textile treasure!

At Larkin Lane, Lark hand selects authentic textiles and collaborates with artisans in the design of each product. Your purchase supports these craftsmen and women. Thank you for the role you play in keeping global textile traditions alive!
